Job Purpose:
The Logistics and Warehouse Assistant Manager will oversee our logistics and warehousing operations with an emphasis on upgrading and refining our policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of logistics processes, warehouse management and the ability to implement effective changes that enhance operational efficiency and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyse existing logistics and warehousing policies and procedures to identify gaps and areas for improvement. Develop and implement new policies that enhance operational effectiveness and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
- Lead initiatives to streamline logistics and warehousing processes, reduce costs, and improve service delivery. Utilize data-driven approaches to identify trends and implement best practices.
- Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure logistics and warehouse performance and productivity. Analyze data and prepare reports for senior management.
- Generate reports on logistics and warehouse performance metrics, analyze data to identify areas for improvement, and present findings and recommendations to senior management.
- Supervise, train, and mentor warehouse and logistics staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration. Provide training on new policies and procedures to ensure team understanding and compliance.
- Collaborate with suppliers and third-party logistics providers to evaluate performance and implement enhancements in service delivery and cost efficiency.
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors/suppliers to secure favourable terms, pricing, and quality for IT and Telecom components and services.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, fostering partnerships that contribute to collaborate with finance teams to negotiate and finalize contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Evaluate and select transportation providers and negotiate contracts.
- Ensure compliance with local and international regulations governing transportation and logistics.
- Identify and mitigate logistics-related risks, such as delays, damages, and disruptions.
- Oversee inventory accuracy and management processes to minimize discrepancies and optimize stock levels. Implement best practices for inventory tracking and reporting.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure a smooth flow of products and information throughout the supply chain.
- Oversee inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels while minimizing excess.
- Inventory management and storing of Incoming, RMA and non-conforming products at designated place with proper identification/ tagging.
- Awareness on Quality Policy, Objectives and relevant procedures
Required Skills/Abilities:
- In-depth knowledge and experience in Technology logistics and warehousing
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable terms and pricing from suppliers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess and analyse market trends, pricing models, and supplier performance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities/deadlines in a fast-paced environment and closely work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Sound decision-making abilities with a focus on cost-effectiveness and quality with keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy in transactions.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Proven experience in logistics management with a focus on policy and procedure development.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
- 7 plus years of proven experience in a supervisory or in a similar role
- Familiarity with technology products and services is highly desirable.
- Professional certifications in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., APICS, IWLA) are a plus.
